Transformer Repair

Transformers are all around us. They are used for stepping up voltage in power generation transmission circuits to reduce current and thus conductor sized needed. Electrical substations then reduce this voltage down using transformers. Finally, this power is transmitted to our home or businesses which have transformers to reduce the voltage to a level needed based on power demands.

Within businesses and homes are many additional transformers that provide power for machinery and lighting as well as charge our phones and computers and much more. Many of these are less expensive to replace than attempt to repair. Larger and more expensive transformers, chokes, inductors and other coils are repairable and American MTS specializes in this process. We have many years of experience with a variety of these rewinds and repairs both on site and in our shops. We also offer redesign and reverse engineering of both dry type and liquid filled units.
